Lot 425 Winchester Model 1892 .44-40 #80738

American made lever action chambered in .44-40 manufactured in 1897 in New Haven, CT. The rifle features standard barrel and tang markings, Winchester trade mark on barrel and receiver tang, smooth curved trigger, checkered hammer spur, full length tube magazine, pinned blade front (damaged), and adjustable sporting rear sights. The furniture appears to be of new production with a serrated plastic buttplate, checkered walnut forearm, smooth straight wrist shoulder stock, and two barrel bands. The lever action is smooth, bore is bright with strong rifling. The overall blued finish on the barrel and magazine tube is approximately 95% with some scattered scratches. The finish on the receiver, lever, hammer, and trigger appear to be bare metal and showing patina. The top of the action presents some grinding marks, and it looks like there is a missing screw in the upper tang. The wood is excellent with some minor scratches and dings. The Winchester stampings are crisp/clear.
Condition is NRA Good to Very Good.
